Impellers, wear rings, pump shafts, seal carriers and casings — reproduced from worn originals to restore pump performance. Material upgrades applied where the original wore too fast.
A centrifugal pump's efficiency and shut-off head depend directly on the running clearance between the impeller and wear ring. As the ring erodes, clearance grows — recirculation increases, head drops, and power consumption rises. Pumps are often condemned for performance loss that is entirely caused by a worn wear ring.
When we reproduce the impeller, we always recommend reproducing the wear ring at the same time. A matched set restores original clearance and original performance.
| Fluid / environment | Original material | Recommended upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Clean water / general service | Cast iron | Reproduce in cast iron — no change needed |
| Seawater / brine | Bronze or 316 SS | Duplex 2205 for longer life in chloride |
| Abrasive slurry | Cast iron | White chrome iron or hard-faced surface |
| Aggressive chemicals | 316 SS | Super duplex 2507 or Hastelloy C276 |
| Food / pharmaceutical | 304 SS | 316L + Ra ≤0.8 μm electropolish |
Impeller balancing. Centrifugal impellers for high-speed pumps are dynamically balanced after machining. Tell us the pump speed (RPM) and we specify the balance grade appropriate for the application. Impellers above ~1500 RPM are balanced as standard.
Include the pump make/model if known, the fluid, the operating speed, and whether performance has dropped. Send the wear ring if you have it — we measure both together.
Vane profile, inlet and outlet angles, shroud profiles, all shaft interfaces — CMM and 3D scan where vane surfaces require it.
Full model and drawing for your approval. Material recommendation included. Balancing specification noted.
CNC turned and milled; complex impellers investment-cast then finish-machined. Balanced where specified. CMM inspection report shipped with the part.
Yes. We measure the vane profile, boss diameter, shroud thickness, inlet and outlet geometry from the worn impeller, reconstruct the hydraulic profile, and reproduce in the original material or an upgrade. Wear on vane tips and leading edges is restored to original geometry.
Centrifugal (single and multi-stage), gear pumps, lobe pumps, progressive cavity, diaphragm pump housings, and peristaltic pump components. We work from the physical parts; the pump type affects the measurement approach but not whether we can help.
Depends on what the pump handles. For abrasive slurries, chrome iron or hard-faced surfaces outlast standard cast iron significantly. For seawater or chemical service, duplex stainless replaces 316 at marginal extra cost. We recommend the right material once you tell us the fluid and operating conditions.
Yes — and we recommend doing both together. The wear ring clearance is a critical pump performance parameter. If you replace only the impeller against a worn ring, efficiency and head will be lower than the pump's design intent. A matched set restores original performance.
