Our CNC Milling Capabilities

EKINSUN operates both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centres, allowing us to handle everything from simple profiled plates to complex multi-sided parts that require compound angles, undercuts, and contoured surfaces — all in a single setup where possible to eliminate re-fixturing errors and guarantee dimensional consistency.

We work from CAD files, technical drawings, hand sketches and physical samples. If you don't have a drawing, our engineers build one for you before machining starts — you review and approve it first.

3-Axis vs 5-Axis Milling

3-Axis Milling

  • Best for prismatic, flat and contoured parts
  • Brackets, mounting plates, flanges
  • Enclosures and housings with straight walls
  • Tooling plates and fixtures
  • Lower cost for standard geometries

5-Axis Milling

  • Complex geometries, undercuts, compound angles
  • Impellers, turbine blades, propellers
  • Organic and sculpted surfaces
  • Single-setup machining reduces errors
  • Medical device components, aerospace parts

Who Gets CNC Milling Quotes From Us?

The buyers who find EKINSUN most useful for milled parts — and the specific problems we solve:

Machine Designers & Mechanical Engineers

"I need a custom servo motor bracket for a non-standard frame size — the catalogue part doesn't exist and I only need 3 pieces."

We mill from your DXF, STEP, hand sketch or even a dimensioned photo. Three pieces, no setup surcharge, no minimum order. Quote in 24 hours. Anodize, powder coat or leave as-milled — your choice.

Electronics & Product Development Engineers

"I'm prototyping a new electronics enclosure. I need the housing in 6061 aluminum with exact pocket geometry — one prototype before we decide on tooling."

One prototype, machined to your STEP file or hand sketch. We suggest wall thickness, draft and corner radius improvements before cutting. Result: a functional prototype that looks production-quality and informs your tooling decision.

Industrial Maintenance Buyers

"A milled aluminum housing on our packaging machine cracked. The OEM charges $3,000 and wants 14 weeks. Can you reproduce it for less?"

Send the cracked housing — we 3D scan it or measure it directly, rebuild the CAD, confirm with you, then mill a replacement. Often faster and cheaper than OEM, especially for older or discontinued machines. Replacement machine parts →

Importers & OEM Sourcing Managers

"I need a China manufacturer for 50–500 piece batches of milled aluminum brackets with tight tolerances and consistent quality across reorders."

ISO 9001:2015 certified. CAD locked after first article approval — every batch matches. Material mill certs on every order. Price breaks at 10, 50 and 100 pieces shown upfront. Worldwide shipping with full commercial documentation for import.

Related Services

CNC milling is often combined with CNC turning on our turn-mill centres for complex parts that need both rotational and prismatic features in a single setup. We also offer 3D scanning to reverse-engineer parts that need to be reproduced without a drawing, and vacuum casting for plastic parts that don't justify the cost of a steel mould.

Frequently Asked Questions

+

3-axis milling moves along X, Y and Z — ideal for flat parts, brackets and straight-walled housings. 5-axis adds two rotational axes, letting the tool approach from any angle in a single setup. This is essential for compound angles, undercuts, impellers and complex organic shapes. We quote both options where applicable and recommend the one that gives you the best price-to-quality ratio.

+

Yes. Send us your hand sketch, a photo of an existing part, or key dimensions on paper. Our engineers build a CAD model, send it for your approval, and only start machining once you confirm the geometry is correct. No CAD software required on your end.

+

Standard tolerance is ±0.01mm. For critical dimensions such as precision bores, locating surfaces and tight fits, we achieve ±0.005mm. Mark all critical dimensions on your drawing; we flag anything that requires special process control before accepting the order.

+

1 piece. We machine single prototypes regularly — there are no minimum charges or setup fees. Volume pricing applies automatically as quantities increase.

+

Yes. Material mill certificates are standard with every metal order. Dimensional inspection reports are available on request. First Article Inspection (FAI) reports are prepared automatically for aerospace and medical orders.

+

Yes. A clear hand sketch with key dimensions is enough to start. Our engineers convert it to a dimensioned CAD drawing, send it to you for approval, and only begin milling once you confirm every dimension is correct. No CAD software needed on your end. You can also email photos of an existing part or a rough description with the critical dimensions — we'll ask follow-up questions before quoting.

+

Yes. Send the broken or worn part. We measure it with CMM or 3D scan it, rebuild the CAD model (free), confirm it with you, then mill the replacement. This covers housings, brackets, manifold blocks, plates and most prismatic parts. See Replacement Machine Parts and Reverse Engineering for how the process works.

+

Ideally: a 2D drawing or 3D STEP/IGES file, material, quantity and delivery country. But we also work from hand sketches, photos with key dimensions, or verbal descriptions for simple parts. The more detail you provide, the faster and more accurate the quote — but we'll always ask before assuming. Email [email protected] or use the form on this page.

+

Yes. After first-article approval your CAD file is stored and reorders reference the same file, material spec and inspection criteria — so every batch matches the first. Most repeat customers see unit price reductions on later runs as fixture time shrinks. We can hold safety stock for high-volume programmes. Contact us to discuss a supply agreement.
