Non-Rebreather Mask — Design Details

The NRB mask is the most clinically critical product in our respiratory range. Its function depends on three components working correctly:

  • Reservoir bag: minimum 1L volume; must remain at least one-third inflated during inspiration to prevent room air entrainment. Bag is tested for leak-free inflation before assembly.
  • One-way inhalation valve: between bag and mask body; opens on inspiration to allow flow from reservoir; closes on exhalation to prevent CO2 contamination of bag. Silicone disc valve, tested on every unit.
  • Exhalation valves (2 on mask body): open on exhalation to release expired gas; close during inspiration to prevent room air entrainment. Silicone flap valves, tested on every unit.

Nebulizer Kit — Components and Function

Our disposable jet nebulizer kit includes: medication cup (6ml or 10ml), T-piece with mouthpiece or mask adapter, inspiratory tubing, corrugated aerosol tubing, and oxygen tubing. The venturi nozzle at the base of the medication cup converts oxygen flow (6 to 8 L/min) into a high-velocity jet that atomizes the liquid medication into aerosol droplets. The baffles in the cup wall filter out large droplets, allowing only MMAD less than 5 micrometers particles to exit to the patient.

Procurement Context

Oxygen masks and nebulizers are high-volume, short-shelf-life consumables. Hospital procurement teams typically source these on annual or biannual contracts by tender, with the main decision factors being: CE compliance documentation, consistent dimensional quality (mask seal against the face), DEHP and latex-free certification, and reliable supply continuity. EMS and ambulance services require masks that can be rapidly deployed from pre-packaged kits. Homecare and pharmacy distributors require consumer-friendly packaging with multilingual instructions.

EKINSUN supplies all three market segments from our high-volume Guangdong facility, with the capacity to fulfill large tender orders on short notice from safety stock.

Complete your ICU respiratory disposables: pair with our percutaneous tracheotomy kits for patients requiring surgical airway access, and our Foley catheters for concurrent urinary output monitoring in critically ill patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

We manufacture four standard configurations: (1) Simple face mask - delivers 35 to 60% FiO2 at 6 to 10 L/min flow; used for moderate hypoxemia. (2) Non-rebreather (NRB) mask with one-way exhalation valves and reservoir bag - delivers more than 90% FiO2 at 10 to 15 L/min; used for severe hypoxemia, trauma, and CO poisoning. (3) Partial rebreather mask with reservoir bag but no one-way valves - delivers 60 to 80% FiO2; used when high but not maximum oxygen delivery is needed. (4) Pediatric masks in two sizes - ages 1 to 5 and 5 to 12 years. All available with 150cm oxygen tubing.

A correctly applied NRB mask with a fully inflated reservoir bag delivers more than 90% FiO2 at 10 to 15 L/min oxygen flow. This requires: sufficient flow to keep the reservoir bag at least one-third full during inspiration, a good facial seal, and functional one-way exhalation valves. In clinical practice, delivered FiO2 is often 60 to 80% due to mask fit variation. The NRB is the highest FiO2 delivery method available without positive pressure ventilation.

Our jet nebulizer produces a mass median aerodynamic diameter (MMAD) of less than 5 micrometers. Particles of 1 to 5 micrometers deposit in the lower airways (bronchi and bronchioles), which is the target for bronchodilator delivery in asthma, COPD, and acute bronchospasm. Particles larger than 5 micrometers deposit in the upper airway and oropharynx and do not reach the therapeutic target. Our nebulizer cup capacity is 6ml or 10ml - most bronchodilator doses are diluted to 4ml total volume in the nebulizer cup.

Yes. All our respiratory products are manufactured from medical-grade PVC and PP that are latex-free and DEHP-free. This is important because DEHP is a plasticizer commonly found in lower-grade PVC that can leach into inspired air, and latex allergy is a significant clinical concern in hospital settings. Our PVC formulation uses an alternative plasticizer that is compliant with EU REACH regulations and FDA requirements for medical device materials.

Yes. Pediatric nebulizer masks in two sizes (ages 1 to 5 and 5 to 12) are available in stock. We also offer animal-face design pediatric masks (dog, cat, dragon shapes) for custom OEM orders from pediatric healthcare brands - these improve child cooperation during nebulizer treatments. Minimum 2,000 pcs MOQ for animal-face designs.

Stock masks and nebulizers: 1,000 pcs per SKU with 5 to 7 business day lead time. Custom branded packaging (box printing, bag label): 2,000 pcs per SKU with 14 to 21 day lead time. Mixed SKU orders (e.g. NRB masks + pediatric masks + nebulizers) accepted when total meets overall MOQ. IFU inserts in English, Spanish, German, French, Arabic, Portuguese available.

Yes. The one-way exhalation valves are made from silicone rubber and tested to open at less than 0.5 cmH2O exhalation pressure and seal against inhalation flow. Valve function is tested on 100% of NRB mask assemblies before packaging. Failed valve tests are rejected - not reworked. The reservoir bag is tested for leak-free inflation to standard volume before assembly.

Yes. All our masks are compatible with humidified oxygen from bubble humidifiers connected to the flowmeter. The 150cm corrugated oxygen tubing accommodates moisture condensation without pooling at the mask connection. For high-humidity environments, a water trap in the oxygen line is recommended.

We manufacture jet nebulizers only. Jet nebulizers use compressed air or oxygen flow through a venturi nozzle to aerosolize the medication - reliable, low cost, and no cleaning required for single-use disposable versions. Mesh and ultrasonic nebulizers are more expensive, require cleaning, and are typically reusable devices outside our product range.

CE declaration of conformity, ISO 13485 manufacturing certificate, and batch certificate of analysis (CoA) with dimensional and functional test data including valve function, mask seal, and nebulizer particle size verification. EO sterilization certificate for any sterile-packed versions. Full technical file under NDA for EU authorized representative review.
