Most threads you can buy on a standard bolt or fitting. The ones that stop a job are the ones you can't: a non-standard pitch, a large diameter beyond tap and die sizes, an internal thread in an odd size, a left-hand or multi-start form, a legacy thread on old equipment, or a thread that has to match a part you already have. EKINSUN cuts those — to your specification, or measured and reproduced directly from your sample.
Threads are single-pointed on the lathe to the exact pitch, so we're never limited to what a catalogue tap or die can make. There's no tooling cost on a single-point thread, which is why one piece is as viable as a batch.
Don't know the thread spec? This is the most common reason people come to us. Send the part or the mating component — we gauge the major diameter, pitch and flank angle, tell you what it is, and cut it. See how we identify an unknown thread.
M2–M64 standard, plus fine and non-standard pitches cut to the measured value
Imperial unified threads, including UNEF extra-fine like 13/16-28 and 9/16-18
British Whitworth, BSF and BA legacy threads (55° form) for vintage machinery
Tapered and parallel pipe threads for fittings and adapters
Power-transmission threads for lead screws, jacks and clamps
LH threads, and two- or three-start leads for fast travel
Beyond standard tap/die — single-pointed internal or external
Odd or intermediate pitches gauged from your sample and reproduced exactly

Thread machining sits behind most of what we make. If your job is a specific kind of threaded part, these pages go straight to it:
Convert one thread to another — BSP↔NPT↔metric, sealing fittings, reducers.
Thread adapters →A different thread on each end — e.g. M30×3.5 to M24×2 — with a hex to tighten.
Double-ended studs →Left-hand, Whitworth, BSF, BA, ACME and odd-pitch thread forms.
Non-standard threads →Match the thread on a worn or obsolete fastener — no part number needed.
From a sample →"I've got the part but I don't know the thread — not sure how to measure it."
Send it. We gauge the diameter, pitch and flank angle, tell you exactly what it is, and cut a matching part. No spec, no drawing, no part number required.
"One side M30×3.5, the other M24×2 — and a flat to tighten it."
We cut each end to its own thread and pitch in the same part, and mill a hex or wrench flats so it can be torqued. See double-ended studs.
"Threads are correct — can you leave a 2.5 mm gap in the thread for an O-ring, and a groove 8 mm wide?"
Yes. We cut the thread, leave a relief gap where the O-ring sits, and machine the groove to size — and we'll advise the right groove width for your O-ring if you're not sure.
"The thread's stripped and the part isn't made anymore."
We re-cut the thread, or machine a new part from the old one. Common on legacy machinery — see non-standard & legacy threads and reverse engineering.
Yes. Send the part or its mating component and we gauge the major diameter, pitch and flank angle to identify the thread — metric, UN/UNF, BSW/BSF, BA, NPT/BSP or a non-standard pitch. If it's a known standard we name it; if not, we measure the exact pitch and cut it.
Yes. We single-point the thread on the lathe to the measured or specified pitch, so we're not limited to listed standards. Custom, intermediate and genuinely non-standard pitches, fine metric and legacy forms are all cut to the exact value.
Both. External threads are single-pointed or die-cut; internal threads are single-pointed, thread-milled or tapped depending on size and depth — including blind, through, and large internal threads beyond standard tap sizes.
Yes. Large-diameter threads beyond tap and die sizes are single-pointed on the lathe. ACME, trapezoidal (Tr), square and stub-ACME power-transmission threads are cut to standard or custom specification.
Yes. We thread, re-thread or add features to a part you send: cut a new thread, leave a relief gap in the thread for an O-ring, machine a sealing groove, or add wrench flats. Send the part, or a sketch with the dimensions.
MOQ 1, and no CAD required. A dimensioned sketch, a sample or the mating part is enough — we build the drawing for free and confirm before cutting. Single-point threads carry no tooling cost, so one piece is fully viable.
