- Gate 3 — one tolerance field. The form asks how tight, once, for the whole part. A pin that needs h6 on one bearing seat and doesn't care elsewhere gets priced as if every surface were the bearing seat.
- Gate 4 — quantity one. An algorithm that cannot ask questions prices its doubts. At series quantities that caution averages out; at one piece of something odd, it lands on your part alone.
