No CAD software. No engineer on your payroll. Just send us your sketch — we'll convert it, confirm it, and machine it. Parts shipped worldwide.
The vast majority of CNC machining suppliers worldwide require a complete CAD file before they will quote. This locks out a huge segment of customers — individual inventors, small repair shops, farmers needing replacement parts, hobbyists, and small manufacturers who don't have engineering software.
At EKINSUN, we built our process around this gap. We have an in-house engineering team whose job is to convert your rough input — however messy — into a precise CAD drawing. We then send it back to you for approval before a single piece of metal is touched.
This service is not an afterthought. It is one of our most-used workflows, and we have refined it over years of working with clients across the USA, UK, Germany, and Australia who had parts in their heads but no way to communicate them digitally.
A hand drawing is just one way in. If you'd rather, you can order with no CAD file at all — from a photo, a physical sample, or rough measurements. For complex or freeform parts we capture geometry with 3D scanning instead.
We genuinely accept all of the following:
The more information you provide, the faster we can quote. But even a rough sketch with the overall dimensions and a note about the material is enough to start a conversation.
Email your sketch, photo, or description to [email protected] — or use our contact form. Include all dimensions you know, and describe what the part is for.
Our engineer reviews your drawing within 12 hours. If any dimensions are missing or ambiguous, we send you a short list of specific questions. We never guess.
We redraw your sketch as a proper 2D technical drawing or 3D CAD model. This is done by our engineers, not automated software.
We send you the CAD file to review. This is your chance to confirm every dimension is correct. We revise as many times as needed until you are satisfied.
Once the CAD is approved, we send a firm quote with price, material options, and lead time. No surprises after you confirm.
Parts are machined to the approved drawing, inspected dimensionally, and shipped via DHL or FedEx Express with full tracking.
You don't need drafting skills. Just follow these principles:
Not sure if your drawing is good enough? Send it anyway. The worst that happens is we ask a few follow-up questions. We have worked from far rougher inputs than you might imagine.
All of these started with a hand sketch, annotated photo, or rough dimension sheet — no CAD file from the customer:
You don't need to arrive with a finished drawing, a CAD file, or an opinion on how the part should be made. A hand sketch with the sizes that matter — or just the worn part and a note on what it does — is a complete starting point. Turning the sketch into a manufacturable drawing and choosing the process is our half of the work, done before the quote and at no charge.

Yes. This is one of our most common workflows. Send a photo of your sketch with dimensions, and our engineers will convert it to a proper CAD drawing, send it back for your approval, then machine the part. No CAD software is required on your end.
Yes, completely free. EKINSUN includes CAD conversion from your sketch or photo as part of every order. There is no engineering fee.
We will identify the missing dimensions and send you a specific list of questions. We never assume or guess — every dimension is confirmed with you before machining starts.
Yes. Our minimum order quantity is 1 piece with no setup fees. Single prototype orders from hand drawings are common for us.
CAD review and redraw takes 1-2 business days. Once you approve the CAD, standard machining lead time is 5 working days. Express service (3 working days) is available for urgent orders at a 30–50% unit premium.
No. CAD conversion from your hand drawing or photo is included free of charge with every order at EKINSUN.
