Looking for a coupling nut factory that will quote a run of 100 to 5,000 in a non-catalogue size, hold the drawing for repeat orders and ship DDP? That is what we do, from one piece up. Below is how a run is priced, what it ships with, and how we take over a part you already buy elsewhere. No drawing needed: a photo with a rule, the measurements in a message, the old part or its part number is enough; we draw it, you approve, we machine. Get a quote →
EKINSUN LTD is a custom parts manufacturer that cuts coupling nuts from hex bar to the thread, length and across-flats you specify, from one piece. A coupling nut is hex bar, bought by the kilogram, plus machine minutes. The bar cost per nut is its length times the grams per millimetre on the size chart; the machine time is cutting, drilling, tapping, chamfering and gauging, and setup is paid once for the whole run. That is why the per-piece price falls hard up to about 25 pieces and again at 500 and 1,000.
| Quantity | What drives the price | Production | How it ships |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–10 pieces | Setup dominates; from €65 for one | 5 working days | Express, DDP |
| 25–100 pieces | Setup shared; bar and minutes per piece | 5–15 working days | Express, DDP |
| 100–500 pieces | Bar, unattended machining, batch inspection | 15 working days | Express or air, DDP |
| 500–1,000 pieces | Tiered lower per piece; bar bought in full lengths | 15–25 working days | Air or sea, DDP |
| 1,000–5,000 pieces, annual | Blanket order, call-offs, price held for the year | First lot 15–25 days, call-offs faster | Sea or air, DDP |
Send the drawing, or a sample and the quantity per year. We make a first article to the drawing, gauge the thread to the same class, measure it against the sample and ship it for approval with the inspection report. Once approved, the drawing is frozen and every call-off is made to it; a change on your side means a revised drawing, not a surprise in the box. Where the current supplier has stopped, raised the minimum or lengthened the lead time, the sample alone is enough to start.
| Variable | Range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Thread | M2 to M24, coarse or fine; 4-40 to 1 in | Two different threads in one nut on request |
| Length | 10 to 100 mm, any value | One run can carry several lengths of the same bar |
| Across flats | DIN 6334 / ISO 4032 table or yours | Bar sizes 4 to 36 mm |
| Material | 304, 316, 303, brass, steel, aluminium | Certificate per heat |
| Finish | Natural, passivated, electropolished, zinc-plated steel | Plating after threading |
| Extras | Sight hole, blind end, cross hole, knurl, flange | One operation each |
| Document | When |
|---|---|
| Material certificate for the bar | Every run |
| First-article inspection report: thread gauge, flats, length, chamfer | Every new drawing and every revision |
| Batch dimensional report | On request, per lot |
| RoHS / REACH statement | On request, stainless and brass |
| Packing list with drawing number and revision | Every shipment |
There is no list price for a machined coupling nut; a single piece starts from €65 and is quoted within 12 hours from the callout. One to a few dozen pieces ship in 5 working days, 50 to 500 in 15 working days, delivered DDP to your door with duties in the quote. The first piece is the sample; repeat orders run to the same drawing, and 500-piece and 1,000-piece runs are priced lower per piece. Bar is 304 (1.4301) unless the order says 316 (1.4404), 303 (1.4305), brass CW614N, zinc-plated steel or aluminium 6061; the grade goes on the drawing and the certificate.
| What you need | In the catalogue? | What to do |

| A non-catalogue size in 100 to 5,000 pieces | No | Quoted per piece with bar and inspection |
| Price held for a year with call-offs | Rare | Blanket order |
| Second source to your drawing | No | First article, then call-offs |
| Several lengths of one size in one run | No | One setup, several lengths |
| Runs shipped DDP with duties in the price | Rare | Standard here |
Do you sell custom coupling nuts wholesale, or only one-offs?
Both. One piece is the minimum, but the price per piece falls steeply to about 25 pieces, then again at 500 and 1,000 because bar is bought by the length and the machine runs unattended. Runs of 100 to 5,000 pieces are quoted per piece with the bar, the tooling and the inspection plan listed.
Can you be a second source for a coupling nut we already buy?
Yes. Send the drawing or a sample of the current part and the quantity per year; we make a first article to it, gauge it to the same class and ship it for approval. After that, call-offs run against the same drawing at the agreed price.
How is a run of coupling nuts priced?
By the bar and the minutes. Bar is priced by the kilogram, so a nut costs its length times the grams per millimetre from the size chart, plus cutting, drilling, tapping, chamfering and gauging time divided over the run. Setup is paid once, which is why 100 pieces cost far less each than 10.
What is the lead time for 1,000 coupling nuts?
15 working days for 50 to 500 pieces and 15 to 25 working days above that, after the first article is approved. Repeat call-offs from a blanket order ship faster because the drawing and the program already exist.
Can you ship a run DDP to Europe or the US?
Yes. Runs ship DDP to your door with duties and taxes in the quote; above roughly 500 pieces or 30 kg we also quote sea freight. Small runs go by express in 5 to 7 working days.
What documents come with a run?
A material certificate for the bar, a first-article inspection report with thread gauge and dimensional results, and on request a per-batch dimensional report. RoHS and REACH statements are supplied with stainless and brass.
