Threaded Rods & Studs — We Cut the Thread, Not Just the Length

Cut-to-length shops saw stock all-thread shorter. We machine the rod and cut the thread itself — M12×1 fine pitch, left-hand, Whitworth, imperial 1/4-28 — in titanium, brass, A4, duplex or certified 42CrMo4. Combinations no mill mass-produces. MOQ 1 piece.

Any pitch — coarse, fine, LH, BSW
Lengths past 1000 mm
EN 10204 3.1 certificates
MOQ 1, quote 24h

Three Ways Threaded Rod Gets Made

Knowing which tier your part belongs to saves money — sometimes with us, sometimes without us:

1

Mass-rolled all-thread

Mills roll standard diameters and pitches in zinc-plated steel and A2 by the ton. If M10×1,5 × 1 m plated rod does the job, buy it off the shelf — nobody can compete with that price.

2

Cut-to-length services

Distributors saw tier-1 rod into your lengths and chamfer the ends. Fast and cheap — but still limited to the diameter/pitch/material combinations the mills actually roll.

3

Cut thread from bar — this page

The thread is single-point cut on a CNC lathe from the bar you specify. Any pitch, any hand, any material, any length section threaded or plain. This is where the combinations that don't exist get made — one piece at a time if needed.

The Combinations Stock Rod Never Covers

You needStock all-threadCut from bar (us)
Fine pitch — M12×1, M10×0,75, M16×1,5rarely rolledany pitch, gauged 6g
Left-hand thread — turnbuckles, spindlesa few sizes, if luckyany size, both hands on one rod
Imperial & obsolete — 1/4-28 UNF, BSW, BSFregional stock at bestgauged from your sample
Materials — titanium, brass, duplex, 42CrMo4 certifiedsteel and A2 mostlymachined from certified bar, 3.1 cert
Part-threaded — thread only where neededfull thread onlythreaded and plain sections to drawing
Tight straightness & tolerancecommercial gradeturned between centres, checked
Batch of stainless steel threaded rods and studs with CNC cut threads machined by EKINSUN
Stainless studs with cut threads — thread only where the design needs it, plain shank where it doesn't

Stud Types We Machine

Full-thread studsAll-thread in the diameter, pitch and material stock rod doesn't offer — chamfered ends, deburred
Tap-end studsThreaded both ends, plain in the middle — engine and flange studs; interference-fit metal end on request
Double-end studsDifferent thread or pitch each end — covered in depth on our double-end studs page
Stepped studsTwo or more diameters along the length, each section threaded or plain to drawing
Tie rodsLong rods with cut threads and exact grip lengths for presses, filters and clamping frames — with matching machined nuts
Adjusting spindlesRight-hand one end, left-hand the other — turnbuckle-style adjustment machined as one piece

Materials & Verification

  • Carbon steel C45 and alloy 42CrMo4 (B7-equivalent, quenched & tempered) — with EN 10204 3.1 certificates
  • Stainless A2-70 / A4-80 — chemical, marine and washdown environments
  • Duplex & super duplex — offshore fastening per your spec
  • Titanium Grade 5 — weight-critical and high-corrosion applications
  • Brass — electrical and instrument rods, non-sparking

Every thread is checked with go/no-go ring gauges in the exact pitch — including the odd ones, where we source or make the gauge alongside the job. Dimensional report on request.

Rod too long to ship as one piece? We machine coupling nuts in the same material and thread so sections join on site — one supplier, one certificate package, threads guaranteed to match.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cut-to-length saws stock all-thread shorter — limited to combinations mills mass-produce. We cut the thread itself from bar: any pitch, hand, material or length section. If stock covers your need, use a cut-to-length shop; when the combination doesn't exist, we make it.

+

Yes — fine pitches are the top reason stock rod fails buyers. Any ISO 261 pitch and beyond, single-point cut and gauged to 6g.

+

Full-thread, tap-end, double-end (different threads each end), stepped studs and long tie rods — each machined as one piece from bar, never welded halves.

+

Past 1000 mm in one piece depending on diameter; longer runs join with matching machined coupling nuts.

+

Yes — EN 10204 3.1 traceable to bar heat, plus dimensional reports. Critical rods run from certified 42CrMo4, A4-80, duplex or titanium bar.
