Custom M30 to M24 Thread Adapter — Including Mixed-Pitch M30×3.5 to M24×2

Need an M30 to M24 adapter — especially the awkward M30×3.5 to M24×2 combination that pairs a coarse thread with a fine one and exists in no catalog? We machine it to order in steel or stainless, and we've already built this exact part from a hand sketch. Get a quote →

We've made this exact adapter

This isn't a hypothetical listing. A customer sent us a hand drawing of an M30×3.5 to M24×2 adapter with a 50 mm hex — a thread combination no supplier stocks — and we turned it into a dimensioned drawing the same day and machined it, in both a male-female and a double-male version. The two builds below are the real thing:

Why this pair isn't on a shelf

M30×3.5 is the coarse default for M30; M24×2 is a fine pitch for M24 (the coarse M24 is ×3). Putting a coarse M30 on one end and a fine M24 on the other — in one body, with a hex to drive it — is not a standard pair, so no distributor carries it. It only exists when it's machined on purpose. That's where a custom adapter beats a catalog reducer: the stock part has to match a standard pairing; ours matches your two threads, whatever they are.

Pitch & material options

Each end is single-point turned to its own pitch and gauged with a thread ring or plug. Standard combinations plus non-standard pitches on request:

Typical uses at this size

M30/M24 is a substantial thread, so this adapter usually does real mechanical work — joining shafts and tie-rods, adapting a large sensor or probe boss, reducing a tapped hole on a machine or press, extending a spindle or ram, or retrofitting equipment where the original thread is no longer available. For load-bearing joints we hold the thread class and concentricity; if it also has to seal, tell us the fluid and pressure and we add the right seal face.

Where the M30 to M24 Catalogue Stops

At this diameter almost nothing is a shelf item, which is why this pair reaches us as a drawing rather than a part number.

M30×2.0 × M24×2.0 — fine on both endsNoFine pitch at M30 is a machine-tool and hydraulic thread, not a fastener-catalogue size.
M30×1.5 × M24×1.5 — extra fineNoTurned to order; state which standard your port follows.
Double-male M30 × M24 studNoA stud at this diameter is made to order everywhere.
Alloy steel 42CrMo4 for a loaded or hydraulic jointNoStock bushes at this size are mild steel if they exist at all.
Hex sized to a wrench you already ownNoWe cut the across-flats to your spanner rather than to a catalogue table.
Through-bore for a shaft or fluid pathNoBore and threads cut in one setup so they stay concentric.

All pitch values above are the ones this page already lists for each end.

Frequently asked

Is the M30×3.5 to M24×2 adapter a stock part?

No. M30×3.5 is coarse and M24×2 is fine — that pairing isn't a catalog product. We machine it to order, and we've already built this exact adapter in both male-female and double-male forms from a hand sketch. See the build →

Can you do other pitches on an M30 to M24 adapter?

Yes — M30×3.5, ×2.0 or ×1.5 on the M30 end, and M24×3.0, ×2.0 or ×1.5 on the M24 end, plus non-standard pitches. Each end is gauged so both sides thread cleanly. More on coarse vs fine pitch →

Male-female, double-male, or female-female?

All three, with a hex or flats to drive it. Tell us the gender of each side and what it threads into.

Material and minimum order?

Steel, alloy steel, or 304/316 stainless. MOQ one piece, no tooling cost, no CAD — a sketch or the two callouts is enough. We draw and confirm before machining.
